Established in 1959, the Yonsei University Institute of Korean is Korea's first specialized institution for teaching Korean as a foreign language. Based on self-developed standard textbooks and a precise eight-level curriculum, we provide academic and systematic instruction. The regular course is an educational program for foreigners and overseas Koreans who are interested in the Korean language and culture and wish to learn Korean.
This is a suitable curriculum for foreigners planning to study Korean for various purposes, such as entering university or graduate school in Korea, finding employment, or learning Korean as a leisure activity. -
The majority of students wishing to study Korean at the Korean Language Institute apply for this course, and an average of 1,700 students from about 60 countries enroll every semester.

The regular course is offered as a 10-week program per semester, with a total of 200 hours per semester and four semesters per year.

It is conducted in morning and afternoon sessions and is designed to match the TOPIK levels; if you start at Level 1, it takes approximately 1 year and 6 months to complete all 6 levels up to Level 6.
